Sited on the existing hospital site in the Centre of Bristol, this former boiler house was the candidate for transformation into the main IT suite for the NHS trust. With both refurbishment and new build elements Davis & Barrett set straight to work undertaking extensive repairs to the existing masonry. Whilst a second team begun the re-modelling and new build. Location, Location, Location!

Access was the main hurdle to jump on this project and the management of Davis & Barrett considered the most appropriate method for every task they did to ensure the safety of their men and compliance with manual handling guidance. This involved utilizing mechanical off load facilities and communicating with the entire site team. Our supervisor shone brightly and allowed D&B to move at the pace required.

This new extension to St Werburghs community centre filled the remaining site, but in doing so provided much needed modern space to groups and voluntary organizations. With plinth brickwork and return piers this project required Davis & Barrett to efficiently undertake there works as not to hinder the other trades progression.

Refurbishment of the existing community centre was also undertaken, with structural openings being altered to comply with current legislation, and localized repairs to existing masonry works. This building has nestled into the community well and will hopefully provide comfortable modern spaces to the local community.
