Once again Davis & Barrett have been selected by our long standing associates Balfour Beatty, to provide bricklaying, carpentry and plaster works to create this fascinating UV treatment Plant at Littleton. This modern facility will be providing Thornbury and the local surrounding areas with clean and safe drinking waters.
Castle Cary
Davis & Barrett are pleased to announce the commencement of 12 new homes in Castle Cary with Mansell Construction. A traditional market town, steeped in history, Castle Cary is located 24 miles from the south of Bath and 12 miles from Yeovil. This exciting new development will be incorporated in to the local area and will provide new and affordable homes for the local community while merging into the town. Davis & Barrett will be using a range of proven techniques that have earned them their reputation providing outstanding quality brickwork within the required timescale.

We are delighted to announce that we are once again working with Marshwood Homes, after the success of Poplar Road and Shoreditch Road. This time producing four new exciting dwellings in Curry Rivel, a thriving village located 12 miles from Taunton. These high spec modern family homes will integrate into the local community and incorporate Davis & Barrett’s key skills in providing excellent quality family homes.
Locking Office
We are pleased to announce our close customer St Modwen, have awarded us with the additional contract of Locking Parklands Office. This exciting addition to Locking Parklands will help to boost jobs in the local community and increase the long term plan for this exciting modern development. Continuing to use modern methods and a vast wealth of experience, Davis & Barrett will provide the high quality service that they are renowned for. With a steel frame construction, this office differs slightly from the houses, however Davis & Barrett’s experience in the commercial sector will shine through providing a ambidextrous service.
Milbury Reach, Exminster
This exciting new development in this popular village location is Davis & Barrett’s new exciting project. Working very closely with Bloor Homes our upmost aim is to build high quality family homes.
The development is within easy access of the local village amenities, while the centre of Exeter is located less than 4 miles away boasting a range of larger stores, leisure facilities and its own beautiful cathedral.

Richard Huish, Phase 2
Once again, Davis & Barrett have been given the privilege of working with Mansell Construction at our local sixth form college. Work has started on providing an extension to an existing teaching block. Davis & Barrett are highly experienced within this role, working to a strict timescale, and having the extensive knowledge of the most suitable high quality materials to use, creating this exciting new development. All of Davis & Barrett subcontractors are trained to ensure competency, thus helping to manage out risks that exist on site. Davis & Barrett are pleased to be part of this ever growing college, building on the local young adults futures.
Breaking news! Davis & Barrett have also been chosen to continue the expansion plans for Richard Huish, this extension includes the Redwood toilet block. Using similar techniques we can use are expertise to blend in this extension and provide adequate labour to meet the tight original timescale that is set within phase 2.
District Centre, Norton Fitzwarren
Davis & Barrett are happy to report the signing of another new contract. This exciting new development in Norton Fitzwarren covers 16,700 sqft and is boasting a new doctor’s surgery, convenience store and modern new retail units. With new housing developments located in the surrounding area, these retail units and doctors surgery will become a vital part of the local community. Development is already underway with completion expected December 2012. With mainly a brickwork façade Davis & Barrett will be providing another lasting impression on the local community.
Derriford Hospital
Davis and Barrett are pleased to announce that work to extend Derriford Hospital Ophthalmology has begun. The hospital will require Davis & Barrett’s sensitivity due to being a live site throughout the works with factors such as control of vibration, noise and dust, these are just a few of the hurdles we need to overcome. Safety as always is a key issue to Davis & Barrett therefore all our subcontractors are trained in asbestos awareness by a UKATA trainer. Work on the hospital will improve the patients visiting the site. Using the existing masonry from the original hospital and extending the new unit using new masonry products provides a demonstration of Davis & Barrett versatility and vast experience in all construction methods.
Devonport Landing Craft
Davis & Barrett’s past experience working on MOD facilities have provided us with the expertise to create these exciting new facilities for the Royal Navy at the Devonport base. Working together with our close client Mansell, we are going to sail through this process and look forward to the challenges ahead of us.
Springfield Road
Work on the final phase is underway at Springfield Road, Highbridge, creating 44 new rented and affordable homes. Working closely alongside Mansell construction this £10 Million project once again has allowed Davis & Barrett to demonstrate their capabilities by providing resources to achieve a strict time scale, budget, whilst maintaining the highest standard and safety we pride ourselves on. These affordable homes are key priority for Sedgemoor District Council and Davis & Barrett are proud to be a part of providing support for the future economic and community prosperity for the local area. With a wide variety of detailing and finishes within this scheme Davis & Barrett has been able to demonstrate their vast array of skills and experience, this has helped achieve an outstanding end product that the local community will enjoy for many years and will become a bench mark for future social housing projects within local districts.

Stratton Hospital, Bude
Stratton hospital which opened in 1866 is one of the oldest community hospitals in the country. This project involves updating the facilities both in a refurbishment phase and a new build. The first phase involves re-modelling the existing building and will see improvements to the physiotherapy department, minor injuries and x-ray department. The second phase involves re-building and extending the existing facilities to provide additional outpatient facilities.
